recombinant human transforming growth factor-βl (rHuTGF-βl) can promote wound healing
when applied topically. In addition to its effect on increasing the strength of incisional
wounds, it has been shown to accelerate healing of an open wound. In a study described in
the chapter, rHuTGF-β 1 was evaluated for its potential clinical use as a wound-healing
