Recombinant human granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) has been in clinical use
for approximately 2 decades. In healthy donors, it has been used to mobilize peripheral
blood progenitor cells for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and granulocytes for
apheresis collection. In patients, it has been used to decrease the duration of neutropenia
after chemotherapy and to offset the neutropenia due to myelodysplasia, acquired
