The tuberous sclerosis (TSC) genes, TSC1 and TSC2, encode hamartin and tuberin,
respectively, and are putative tumor suppressor genes that were originally identified due to
their involvement in the inherited autosomal dominant disorder tuberous sclerosis. It has
